Excellent instruction every step of the way. I’ve taken other perspective courses before, but his teaching method is simple yet profound and gives you a powerful foundation to undergird all of your paintings and make them incredibly beautiful and believable.

This is a really in-depth course and I like the way it is set up. The lessons are clear and concise so you can watch a lesson quickly and then have time to integrate it and practice before continuing the next lesson or you can binge a bunch of lessons in a row if you choose. Each lesson is simple and easy to understand so you can immediately start learning but they are complex enough that an intermediate artist won't feel bored. The course is set up into four main sections: Drawing (Perspective); Drawing (Lighting and Material); Watercolor and Advanced. In the watercolor section it starts with basic washes and mixing then you will graduate into painting a beautiful many-layered coffee scene and a landscape of a barn. Each project is laid out step by step so you don't feel afraid to try it and work alongside the videos. I really enjoyed the lessons on perspective. Previously, I have avoided anything to do with perspective because it seemed tedious and mathematical and time consuming. But his lessons break down perspective into bite sized chunks and I can see how I can use this information to improve my own drawing. It wasn't intimidating at all! I think this course is worth it just for the drawing lessons and I can't wait to get into the watercolor section because Eric is a master at this art form. I know I will learn so much from him!

I think this course is much more than just essential watercolor, because it helps beginners to "start with the right foot", showing the way to set up a solid drawing, explaining clearly how to front the difficult issues of perspective, usually unknown to most people. Going on to watercolor Eric explains in a plain simple way how to make clean washes, how to give deepness to the painting alternating in the right way lighter and darker values, undefined parts and detailed parts. The videos are all very well maid and are in real time so that you can get every single passage and see it again and again if needed. Furthermore Eric can help you in case of specific difficulties concerning the course: for example, once I was trying to apply a 2 point perspective to a figure I had found (it was the picture of a frog) without success and so I mailed him the picture asking if he could explain to me where I was making mistakes and he promptly answered in a complete and extremely effective and helpful way. I previously had attended a live watercolor course paying it more than what I payed for this one, and I can assure "Watercolour Essential" is worth all the money one can spend for it. Pietro

I've been piddling around trying to learn watercolor painting. I've watched DVDs, taken private and college classes, and still feel awkward and dissatisfied with my painting attempts. I've not been able to do a lot of the course with recently repatriating back to the UK from The Netherlands but what I've have done so far and scanned through what's to come has left me with nothing more to say than sheer excellence. I've collected many DVDs from famous professional artists over the years and nothing touches this. The content and step by step procedure is the best, from beginners to advance. This course is my go to and all I need. It's broken down in easy to manage steps in progression. Now I'm settled back in the UK I'm so excited to get started with this course again. Everyone should own this course. I no longer have to gather bits of information from different sources not adding up to much sense. Here I have everything in one place.
